Chapter 8 - Personal Finance - 8.8 Credit Cards - Concept and Vocabulary Check - Page 563: 3

Answer

When you use a debit card, the money you spend is deducted electronically from your bank account.

Work Step by Step

The debit cards of the users are somewhat connected to their bank account. Thus, whenever a user makes a payment, the amount paid is automatically deducted from the concerned person’s bank account in an electronic mode. If the sufficient amount of money is not available in the user’s bank account to make a particular payment, he cannot process the amount of payment. Debit cards are meant to offer convenience to its users in terms of making payments through it and the ability to run up the debt associated with credit cards at the same time.
