Answer

The function \[y={{\log }_{10}}x\] is usually expressed as \[y=\log x\] and is called the common logarithmic function.

Work Step by Step

Common logarithm is the logarithm with the base 10. It clearly tells how many of one is required for multiplication to get another number. Logarithms are opposite to that of the exponential. Logarithm of any number to a given base is value of the index to which the base must be raised to get the given number. Common logarithm has a base value 10. If the base is not written with respect to a log then it need to be clearly understood that the base is 10. It is also an inverse of an exponential function \[{{10}^{x}}\]and it is\[\log x={{\log }_{10}}x\].
