Chapter 4 - Writing Linear Functions - 4.1 - Writing Equations in Slope-Intercept Form - Essential Question - Page 175: 1

Answer

We should find the slope and y-intercept of the line from the graph. We can find the slope using the equation $m=\frac{y_{2}-y_{1}}{x_{2}-x_{1}}$ where $(x_{1},y_{1})$ and $(x_{2},y_{2})$ are any two points in the line. Y-intercept $b$ is the value of y-coordinate when $x=0$. Equation of line in slope-intercept form is obtained by substituting the value of $m$ and $b$ in $y=mx+b$.
