Chapter 8 - Polynomials and Factoring - 8-8 Factoring by Grouping - Lesson Check - Page 519: 4

Answer

(6w+5)

Work Step by Step

Given the polynomial $36w^{2}$ + 60w + 25 *** We break of the middle term into two factors that add to give +60 and multiply to give +900. The two numbers are +30 and +30. $36w^{2}$ + 30w + 30w + 25 We take the GCD of the first two and the GCD of the last two terms. 6w(6w+5) +5(6w+5) We take (6w+5) and factor it out which gives us. (6w+5)(6w+5) Since the Area of a square if $length^{2}$ thus in the area (6w+5)(6w+5) the length is just one side which is (6w+5).
