We are looking for the x and y intercepts so that we can draw the graph; to do this, we have to plug 0 in for the y and x coordinates. To find y- intercept, let $x = 0 $ $−2x+y=8$ $−2(0)+y=8$ $y=8$ Therefore $y=(0,8)$ To find x-intercept, let $y=0$: $−2x+y=8$ $−2x+(0)=8$ $−2x=8$ so $x=(−4,0)$
