The vertical asymptote travels vertically and crosses the x axis. The point at which it crosses the x axis denotes the asymptote. Therefore, looking at the graph, we see that the asymptote travelling vertically crosses the x axis at 0. Therefore, our vertical asymptote is x = 0. The horizontal asymptote travels horizontally and crosses the y axis. The point at which it crosses the y axis denotes the asymptote. Therefore, looking at the graph, we see that the asymptote travelling horizontally crosses the y axis at 2. Therefore, y = 2.
