How is nature represented in the story? How do the women interact with it?

Though nature is not the ultimate enemy of Ladyland, it seems to be responsible for most of their troubles. Nature caused men to be more physically powerful than women, and Nature's storms and abundance of sun are forces women must overcome to produce equitable conditions within Ladyland. In both instances, the women of Ladyland overcome Nature through technology to become the new dominant force.
