Rape

In the Gorgon family, Medusa is the only human being because the rest of her family is immortal. Medusa is a beautiful girl, and she attracts the attention of the male Greek gods, who are fond of raping women to pass the time. When Medusa comes across the male Greek gods, they rape her repeatedly. Medusa returns home sad, and she hides in the family's caves. Usually, the male Greek gods are infamously horny, and everyone knows they are sexual assaulters.

Bad luck

Bad luck is another predominant theme in the novel. Medusa is an innocent mortal in the Gorgon family, but she is subjected to a punishment she does not deserve. Since Medusa's rape occurs in Athena's temple, the goddess gets angry and converts Medusa into a deadly monster. Henceforth, anything Medusa stares at dies instantly. Unlike her monster sisters, Medusa is a sign of bad luck, and no one wants to come across her. Medusa becomes an unwanted creature even within her family. Therefore, Medusa suffers a punishment she does not deserve because it was not her fault to be raped.

Power

The Stone Blind is a Greek mythology involving powerful immortal creatures. Although the gods and goddesses exhibit human qualities, they have immeasurable powers and can bring the world to a standstill if they so wish. The goddess can convert any mortal being into a deadly monster. Poseidon has power over the sea and can command it to change direction. The male Greed gods can rape anything perceived as mortal, and nothing can be done to them. Therefore, power is a central theme in the novel because every mortal creature has a huge influence.
