Throughout the study of "Sonny's Blues," students with disabilities should have the option of using dictation software for writing assignments, and text-to-speech software for reading assignments, or any other ADA-mandated technological accommodations.
Activities on both days of this lesson plan require internet access, including access to video and audio sites like YouTube or Spotify; if your school has a block on these sites, you should figure out a workaround with your administration before you begin teaching this story. In addition, both days require internet research, and the "Point of View" exercise on Day 2 would benefit from a class blog or document-sharing site.
