“A”
“A” is the central character in the novel Someday, with the ability to transform into dissimilar body forms of different people. “A" is a friendly person, and she appreciates others without judging them based on race or gender. The characters that “A” has inhabited their bodies include Alexander and Nathan.
“A” starts a sexual relationship with Rhiannon, who is also dating a boy called Alexander. Readers learn that “A” previously inhabited Alexander’s body. Rhiannon is deeply in love with “A," and their relationship symbolizes the acceptance of the queer community in the contemporary world.
Rhiannon
Rhiannon is A's girlfriend but dates Alexander when “A" disappears. Rhiannon is a lesbian, but Alexander does not know. Rhiannon is a lively girl who wants to establish a strong bond with “A" because they have similar interests. Rhiannon interacts with several other characters whose bodies have been inhabited by “A” without her knowledge. Rhiannon remains optimistic that “A” will return to rekindle their love.
Alexander
Alexander is Rhiannon's boyfriend, and the author describes him as charming, entertaining and friendly. Alexander loves Rhiannon wholeheartedly but does not know she is a lesbian. Rhiannon is secretly dating “A," and she hopes she will return in future to renew their love affair. Alexander is a wonderful boyfriend, and he hopes Rhiannon will accept him fully.
Nathan
Nathan is a close friend of “A,” but he does not know that she frequently inhabits his body. When “A" disappears, Nathan is concerned and combines efforts with Rhiannon to look for her. However, Nathan's efforts to locate “A" are disrupted when Reverend Poole interrupts his meeting with Rhiannon.
Reverend Poole
Reverend Poole is also called "X" and has a similar ability to "A" of inhabiting other people's bodies. Poole and "A" are enemies, and he is among the few characters responsible for her disappearance. After Poole discovers that Nathan is trying to reconnect with "A", he harms him.
