Love and Wealth: A Comparison of So Long a Letter and A Raisin in the Sun Anonymous College

What exactly makes love and wealth so appealing to humans? Love is a desirable feeling, which people feel they cannot live without. People need love in their life to feel whole, when they are with or care for a special someone. Wealth refers to possessions or assets such as cash and real estate. Many people believe that they are supposed to have a certain amount of materials and money, which will make them happy. In the stories, So Long A Letter by Mariama Ba and A Raisin in the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry both the concepts of love and wealth are discussed. So Long a Letter is about a widow named Ramatoulaye who is faced with Islamic traditions and financial difficulties. Her deceased husband, Modou had also married another young woman named Binetou.
