An Introduction to Gillnetting

Students will research and write about gillnet fishing.

Structure:

San Piedro Island is a community built largely around gillnet fishing. Students may not be familiar with how gillnet fishing actually works, however, and so, for this activity, they will research the basics of gillnet fishing, as well as essential supplies that one would need to bring along for a successful expedition.
