    The narrator means that billionaires who are capable—or whose wealth was established through some amount of effort, regardless of how unsavory—are offensive. With billionaires who happen into their money through chance or inheritance, there can be some amount of forgiveness for their exorbitant wealth because they did not commit their lives to accumulating it.
