Sir Orfeo
Sir Orfeo is the eponymous protagonist of this poem. The poem begins as Sir Orfeo is despairing about the loss of his wife, who has been kidnapped by the Fairy King.
Heurodis
Heurodis is Sir Orfeo's wife, who has been captured by the Fairy King. As such, the poem follows Sir Orfeo as he tries to rescue his wife and return her to safety.
Fairy King
The fairy king is the antagonist of this poem and is the Lord of the Underworld. He kidnaps Heurodis, Sir Orfeo's wife, while they are visiting an orchard.
The Steward
Once Sir Orfeo returns with his wife he is not recognized by his people. However, one steward recognizes him and tells everybody about his identity as King.
