omission

Something that has been overlooked or left out.

stumped

Baffled by a problem; incapable of coming up with a solution.

jubilation

A state of extreme joy and happiness.

buckshot

Coarse lead ammunition inside the shells loaded into a shotgun.

gristmill

A mill for grinding grain.

clatter

The loud meaningless hum of people engaging in gossip.

dialect

The particular words or specific usage or pronunciation of words that is common to a particular group of people or region.

groveling

A humiliating form of asking for help or assistance.

lard

White semisolid fat rendered from pig innards.

loping

A casual form of walking characterized by long strides.

omniscient

The characteristic of being able to know everything.

mournful

An expression or display of great sadness and sorrow.

dilemma

A situation that creates the necessity to make a choice between two or more equally valid choices,

pester

To annoy or bother continuously and in a particularly irritating way.

frankfurter

A hot dog or hot dog sized and shaped link of sausage.

pneumonia

A respiratory disease causing inflammation of the lung, congestion and extreme difficultyin breathing.

wringer

A mechanism consisting of two tubes place closely together through which recently washed clothing can be inserted which, when the tubes rotate by cranking a handle, squeeze the remaining water from the fabric; a very early version of a clothes dryer.

devilment

Prankish acts or behavior which irritates even those who are not the target of the maliciousness.

tuckered

Worn out and fatigued, usually from having engaged in physical activity that depleted one's vitality.

whetstone

A flat, hard mineral substance against which a blade is rubbed to renew its sharpness and cutting ability.

feeble

Lacking in physical strength or intellectual capacity.

lickety-split

In a rapid manner; immediately.
