    Courting the Regency Woman

    Objective:

    Students will write about the courtship practices of Austen's time.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RH.9-10.1

    Structure:

    As Sense and Sensibility is a prime example of a Regency-era novel and it is largely concerned with the courtship practices endured by several of its younger characters, students should build a general understanding of what courting rituals were like for upper-class British people in the early- to mid-1800s.
