A state of chaos and lack of order but usually conveyed without a sense of genuine mayhem or danger.

mollify

To pacify, make peace between opponents or placate someone.

lurid

Garish, loud, gaudy and sensationalized.

complement

A perfect supplement or companion to another thing; not to be confused with the nearly identically spelled word meaning an expression of admiration: compliment.

waver

Movement back and forth between decision and indecision.

allege

To make a claim against a person or concept.

wane

Dwindling or decreasing in size or significance.

desiccate

To dehydrate, shriven, shrink and wither.

euthanize

To kill for the purpose of ending unnecessary and unending misery.
