Mazie
Mazie is the dominant character whose diary records are quoted throughout “Saint Mazie”. The diary entries outline her sentiments and involvements all through her life.
Fannie
Fannie is Mazie’s associate who introduces her to a young man who endorses that Mazie authors an autobiography about her lifetime in the streets.
Bums
Mazie considers the vagrants who occupy the streets to be the proprietors of material stories that could be integrated in books and not her. Mazie has been rendering assistance to the vagrants for a decade before the guy introduced to her by Fannie recommends an autobiography.
George Flicker
He is a supplementary narrator whose admissions substantiate those in Mazie’s diary. He has known Mazie her sisters since Mazie was about ten. They both grow up at ‘the Lower East Side.’
Rosie
Rosie is Mazie’s older sister who fulfills the dual responsibilities of their mother and sister to them. She endeavors to cater to their requirements, such as clothing and food.
Louis
He is Rosie’s husband who aids her with raising her sisters. Mazie holds him in high regard that she cannot vacillate from doing him favors.
Jeanie
Jeanie is Mazie’s sister who has a penchant for ballet dancing which she proudly does in the streets. She bears a resemblance to a ballerina due to her favorite demeanor.
Gypsy (Gabriella)
Rosie consults a gypsy on the prospects of her bearing children, which is her utmost desire in life. Mazie does not believe her foresight, though.
