Saint Maybe is a novel written by the American author Anne Tyler. It was published in 1991 by Knopf, published in print with 337 pages. The book has elements of the genre literary realism, since that is the genre in which Tyler usually writes.

The story centers around a perfect family living in a cozy and loving house. When Ian, the main character and narrator of the book, confronts his brother about the affair his wife is having, his brother commits suicide. The book discusses how Ian leans to deal with the guilt, as well as redeeming himself, as he realizes that his assumptions were wrong.

Anne Tyler is short story writer, novelist and literary critic. Saint Maybe is her twelfth novel. She was born October 1941 and was fifty years old when she published her book. She won the National Book Critics Circle Award for fiction in 1985 and the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1989. Her most known works are Dinner at the Homesick Restaurant, The Accidental Tourist, and Breathing Lessons.
