Monica
The elder sister of the pair. She is loquacious and overbearing, taking any chance to criticise any subject, including her sister's fashion sense and choice of food. Furthermore, she is something of a pseudo-intellectual and often boasts of her highbrow exploits.
Claire
The younger sister of Monica and in many ways her polar opposite. She is quiet and very rarely heard by her opinionated sister but also seems to possess a deal of confidence.
The waiter
The third character in the play. This character is unenthusiastic and has little time for Monica's boasts and complaints.
