In one of his classic trailers, Alfred Hitchcock takes the audience on a tour of the Bates Motel and house as he describes the crimes committed as if they were real locations and incidents rather than fiction. A jaunty score is juxtaposed with sinister teases of the details of the horrific murders ("You should have seen the blood...it's too horrible to describe"), pointing out important scenes and props that the audience will recognize when they see the movie. He humorously begins to describe key scenes from the movie, then stops himself mid-sentence to cleverly maintain suspense, before moving on to another location. The trailer ends in the bathroom of Cabin 1, where Hitchcock sweeps aside the shower curtain to reveal Janet Leigh's screaming face and fractured PSYCHO title.
