Paddy Clark Ha Ha Ha Metaphors and Similes

Sibling Love and Violence (Metaphor)

Sinbad had lost his shoe and it was Paddy’s fault, for he was supposed “to have been looking after him.” The mother made Patrick to “go out and find the shoe.” Of course, Paddy wasn’t happy about it, he didn’t even agree that it was his fault in the first place. Paddy decided to teach Sinbad a lesson, so he “closed the bathroom door” and “got Sinbad back for it.” He “gave him a dead leg.” However, revenge didn’t bring Paddy as much pleasure as he expected. The older boy was worrying that Sinbad would tell their mother the real reason of his tears.

Nervous (Metaphor)

Paddy was happy, he could not believe his eyes. He held an autograph of George Best, his favorite soccer player. His father did a great job, for it was not easy to get it for his son. However, there was something suspicious and strange about the way his father answered the questions. “Worry began a ball” in Paddy’s “stomach.” He understood that the father had lied. It wasn’t a real autograph.

Easy (Simile)

Paddy’s father could be really “mean.” He didn’t even try to be a good father. That day the man was supposed to teach Paddy how to ride a bike. Unfortunately for Paddy, he failed to tame his fear, so the father lost his temper. He believed that riding a bike was “as natural as walking,” thus Paddy was either stupid or just lazy to try. As the result, Paddy felt miserable. He could not understand what his father really wanted.
