Why does Langda seek to take Omi down?

Omi has appointed Kasu as his successor over Langda, and this is a direct insult to Landga who knows he is the qualified choice. Thus, Omi's selection leads Langda to seek revenge upon him for overlooking him for a position he believed was rightfully meant to go to him not the less skilled and committed Kasu.
