Structure:
Ask the students to imagine what happens after Oedipus Rex leaves off. Some may already have knowledge of the other works in Sophocles’ Oedipus cycle—ask them to leave that aside for now. Give the class 15 or 20 minutes to write their own epilogues, where they describe what happens to Thebes and Oedipus after the action of the play is over.
