'Night' as Art: A Debate

Objective:

Students will be able to evaluate Night as a work of art, and the affect of time on perceptions of history

Common Core Standards:

CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.9-10.6

Structure:

Have students read silently the 1964 article "The Literature of the Holocaust" by A. Alvarez, published in Commentary Magazine. Instruct them to read closely, noting questions, and underlining important sentences and unfamiliar words.
