In Hero's first substantial lines of the play, she tells Margaret to fetch Beatrice so Beatrice might listen in on Hero and Ursula's conversation. Hero mentions that Beatrice might hide amongst the honeysuckles, which "ripened by the sun, / Forbid the sun to enter--like favourites / Made proud by princes, that advance their pride / Against that power that bred it" (3.1.8-12). How do these lines compare to Don John's "canker in a hedge" soliloquy from Act I, Scene 2? Is this passage about Don John? If so, why does Hero mention it?
