Moon Witch, Spider King Irony

Moon Witch, Spider King Irony

The paradox of the Spider King

The Spider King is the only person who has the audacity of threatening Sogolon. For instance, the Spider King uses his confidant called Aesi, to stalk Sogolon and threaten her using a demonic spirit. Paradoxically, Sogolon is not scared by the king's threats, and she courageously says that she is not afraid of him because she has seen many powerful men fall before.

The irony of Sogolon’s boss

Sogolon's boss is ironic because he is not ashamed of himself when he tries to rape a young orphaned girl. What Sogolon needed was parental love and guidance. Unfortunately, the boss is evil and does not qualify to be called a father. However, Sogolon used her magical power to resist the rape by fighting back, and she won.

The satire of the ‘name-calling'

While Sogolon was growing up, the people around her never showed her love because they called her bad names. For instance, when Sogolon discovered her magical powers at a young age, people called her a monster. Therefore, Sogolon grew up hating herself. Satirically, later in life, Sogolon appreciated her mystique powers, and the people who initially abused her had no option but to respect her.

The irony of tragedies

Sogolon has gone through many misfortunes and tragedies in her life. For instance, Sogolon became an orphan at an early age, and she was left under the care of foster parents who did not accord her the love she wanted. Secondly, her boss tried to rape her forcefully, but she resisted using her invisible magical powers. Ironically, the tragedies that Sogolon went through in her life hardened her. Therefore, the tragedies that befell Sogolon were a blessing in disguise because they made her tougher and stronger.
