Monkey Boy Irony

Family

Family is the most important part of a human being because it creates a sense of self-assurance and individuality. Ironically, Frank is brought up in a broken family where the father is obnoxious, intoxicating, and slapdash. Frank's mother is not an exception because she is not interested in Frank's bad state of affairs. The mother is slipshod and only thinks about herself. As a result, Frank struggles with the identity crisis throughout his life.

Home

An English proverb says, “East or west home is the best.” Most people want to be associated with their hometown because it defines their identity. Ironically, for Frank, home is the nastiest place he can dream of staying. Instead, he travels miles away to live in New York.

New York

When Frank decides to relocate to New York, he believes it has the best opportunities for him to prosper over time. Paradoxically, Frank discovers that life in London is worse than in Boston because of limited opportunities and the high cost of living. Frank discourages anybody who is ambitious to visit New York and advises people to prefer other cities such as New Mexico.
