Molly Bloom
Molly is a world-class and successful Olympic skier. Her career is however cut short due to an injury she suffers. She puts off going to law school and leaves for Los Angeles. She works at a bar where underground poker games are held. Molly learns the game and goes out on her own to build one of the biggest underground poker games in the world. Her clients include prominent individuals in the entertainment business, criminal organizations among others. Molly is strong-willed and capable of achieving success in any environment she’s in.
Charlie Jaffey
Charlie is a principled lawyer whom Molly meets to represent her in court over her illegal activities. He is a stern critic on Molly’s career path and advises her to hand over evidence that might incriminate several prominent people in the society. Molly declines to do so. In time, Charlie gains respect for Molly despite her questionable past.
Larry Bloom
Larry is Molly’s overbearing father. He is a preachy clinical psychologist who puts immense pressure on his children to be excellent. This, however, has its upsides when it’s revealed that Larry cheated on his wife and Molly was aware of it at a young age. This brings up an interesting father-daughter issue that influences Molly’s actions even as an adult.
