What does Beckett mean when saying, "I pause to record that I feel extraordinary form. Delirium perhaps?”
Malone says these words to show his confidence that he is courageous and willing to soldier on despite the threat of death before him. Malone is aware that death is the ultimate end for him, but that does not stop him from doing what he loves. Death is apparent, and whether in prison or at home, every person will die one day. Therefore, Becket encourages his readers not to fear death but to be courageous and execute their duties confidently.
