Stephanie Land is a 28-year-old worker chasing her dreams of attending university and becoming a writer. As life would have it, her dreams were cut short when a summer fling results in an unplanned pregnancy. This pushes her to realign her life path to fit in a new and innocent life that depends on her.
Due to these new responsibilities, Land decides to work as a maid to support her daughter Mia. She struggles with an immune deficient child, raised in a poor environment and lacking necessities. She continues chasing her dreams by writing relentlessly, working during the day, and taking evening classes to earn a degree.
Land didn't experience the best start in life, so it's hard for her to give her child a loving and peaceful upbringing. She's in an abusive relationship with Jamie and has to constantly fight for her daughter's custody. No wonder, Land makes poor decisions.
Despite her impossible situations, Land manages to get the best out of every pitfall that life throws her way. She builds herself back up with her daughter Mia as her sole motivation.
