    Paris in the 19th Century

    Students will relate their historical research on Paris to their understanding of the text

    Structure:

    Part 2 of Little Women expands outward in scope, meaning we (and the characters) leave the comfortable environs of the March home and begin to see the world beyond New England. In particular, Amy spends a great deal of time in Europe, and Paris in particular. The 1850s and the decades that followed were a unique time for Paris, thanks to Haussmann's renovation of the city, which dramatically changed the city's landscape.
