Liddy
Liddy is the protagonist in the story “Liddy, First to Fly.” Liddy is a lively and curious character that wants to know everything from her mother. For instance, she asks her mother whether she grew wings on her kegs before transitioning into womanhood. The growing of the wings is a process called metamorphosis.

The climber is the leading character in "Climbing Nation." The climber dies a mysterious death, and it is later discovered that his close friends killed him. Before he died, the climber was a renowned social influencer and celebrity. The motive for his killing is unclear.

The anonymous central character in this story is a woman looking forward to being allowed to bond with her dead mother in the botanical patch. However, the programmer denies the narrator access.
The programmer in the botanical garden
The programmer is in charge of the botanical garden and gives clients orders to only enter with permission. When the unnamed narrator requests to spend with her dead mother, the programmer tells her that such an act can lead to legal problems and cases.
The middle-aged couple
The middle-aged couple in the "Twenty Hours" story is paradoxical. The technology is advanced, and partners can kill each other and get new reprints of the same partners in their fictionalized world. The man kills his wife and starts to print a new wife. As he waits for the printing to complete, he imagines how beautiful she will be. The man also looks forward to a happy marriage with the newly printed wife.
