Objective:

Students will act out a brief scene from any day of reading.

Structure:

Having studied a the vast majority of the novel, students will now have the opportunity to act out one of their favorite passages from Les Miserables.

First, initiate a brief discussion with the students about the difference between reading a play and reading a novel. A play was not intended primarily to be read like a book is: it was intended to be read by actors and then performed for an audience. Students need to engage with this dimension of the text.
