Sharif appeared in over 120 films and episodes of television during his career that spanned from 1954 through his death in 2015. Sharif spoke Arabic, English, Greek, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian fluently which lead to him being cast as a foreigner in many pictures throughout his career. He is also well known for his role in 1965 picture Doctor Zhivago.
