What thoughts does Charlie have about the violent war in Vietnam and the average Australian's responsibility/response? Do you agree or disagree with his thoughts?

Charlie thinks about how the dropping of bombs seems to be the least violent thing he has encountered in recent days, even though it's clearly the worst. With bombs and war in a distant land, it is hard to figure out who is at fault for the violence. Charlie thinks that maybe the distance to the violence is key.
