How does the author use the image or symbol, also which characteristics are illustrated in the poem?
The characteristics of the beauty of summer. The green grass, the return of animals....Unfortunately the resurgence of summer brings the speaker no solace, "And thus I see among these pleasant things, Each care decays, and yet my sorrow springs.”
I think that both poets are ultimately disillusioned with life. Both speakers feel stifled in their lives, unable to take solace in anything.
