    Why does Cruz choose to have Cara miss Session Eleven?

    Deciding to have Cara miss Session Eleven is a chance to develop both Cara's and the caseworker's characters. This is significant given the fact that there aren't many ways to develop the caseworker's character authentically. The omission of Session Eleven develops Cara's character because it continues to show what kind of person Cara is. She would only miss a session if absolutely necessary; the loyalty and closeness she feels toward her late friend La Vieja Caridad, not to mention her desire to be helpful and her generosity, drive her to skip the session to clean out La Vieja Caridad's apartment.
