The burden of parenthood

César was a special child. His unique perception of the world, naivety, and kindness often puzzled his parents, for they sensed that he wasn’t a usual child. In spite of the fact that they were aware of César’s peculiarities, they refused to accept him just the way he was. Both his mother and his father did their best to make him behave differently. There would be no need to say that their methods were rather questionable. People avoid talking about it, but parenthood is not only about joy and happiness. It could be a burden too.

Bullying

According to the typical definition, bullying is behavior that frightens or hurts someone smaller or weaker. People get used to stories about school bullying in which children prove themselves to be rather heartless and cruel, but the society is definitely not ready to accept the fact that teachers can be bullies too. César’s story proves it. Unfortunately for him, the woman decides that it is perfectly okay to unleash her anger and humiliation on the boy, making César the only one responsible for the conflict. The teacher’s carelessness and César’s mother inability to analyze the situation made César an outcast.

Naivety

César’s naivety is refreshing. In the world that is so focused on struggles, money, success, and what not, his purity seems to be unreal. Paradoxically enough, his gentleness and harmlessness just irked his father and puzzled other people. As the result, César found the way out and that was his world of fantasies. He could escape to his dreams every time something bad happened. However, not every dream that was born is his head was peaceful and calming. More often than not it was something terrible, visions that could make blood run cold. The only one thing that prevented his heart from breaking was his naivety.
