Ricky Roma
Ricky Roma is a slick, smooth-talking real estate salesman in Chicago. He is the most successful of the salesmen in his office. He is quick to lie to clients in order to get what he wants, which is his commission from the sale, even if the sale isn't what the client wants.
Shelley Levene
Levene is an older man, once a successful salesman who hasn't closed a deal in some time. He is in on the robbery and is found out when he tells Roma that Williamson has not yet cashed the Lingk check. Roma tries to pull Levene up by saying he's going to work with him, but Levene is on his way to meet a police detective after being found out as the burglar.
John Williamson
Williamson is the office manager at the real estate sales agencies the characters are employed at. He is the one who hands out the leads to the salesman, and believes he is mistreated by them and thus doesn't like them. This especially includes Levene who has cut him down with his words the entire time they've worked together.
George Aaronow
Aaronow is another of the aging salesmen. He is seen with Moss early in the play going through a plot to steal leads from Williamson's office. In the end he and Roma are the only two salesmen that remain at the agency after the robbery as Levene is found out and Moss is said to be a conspirator.
Dave Moss
Moss is seen in the first act with Aaronow convincing him to steal the leads with him in order to sell them to their competitors. When Aaronow doesn't want to he manipulates him into believing he is complicit just by having this conversation with him. He is indignant against all of the salesmen and decides to leave for Wisconsin rather than undergo further questioning.
Baylen
Baylen is a Detective who has come into the office in order to investigate the burglary and theft of sales leads. He interrogates the salesmen one by one in Williamson's office during the play.
James Lingk
Lingk is a prospect that sits near Roma at the restaurant. Roma is able to sell the man based on Lingk's fears of never having done anything with his life. Soon after the sale Lingk comes into the office to demand the cancellation of the sale. But, he is told by Williamson that his check has already by cashed and he leaves dejected.
