Gilead: Briefly Noted

Students will write short critical reviews of Gilead and compare their opinions with classmates.

Structure:

Have students look through a few examples of the New Yorker's "Briefly Noted" section, which contains short, paragraph-length book reviews. As they read, they should identify key features of these reviews, such as brief plot summaries, descriptions of the authors' writing styles, identification of major themes, and short quotes.
