George's Marvelous Medicine is true to its title. It is about a kid that wants to make his grandma nicer. He thinks that he can do that by creating medicine. It starts when George's mom goes to the store and his dad works at the farm. They tell George that he needs to behave. Also, that he needs to give his grandma her medicine at 11 o'clock.
Left with an ungrateful and rude grandma he decides to start a new medicine to make her less rude and mean. He mixes, shoe polish, jujube fruit juice, some spices, toothpaste, and engine oil. He then boils it and puts it in his grandma's medicine.
When his grandma tries the medicine, she immediately grows to an enormous size, thinking she is magical. Soon after Georges parent come home amazed at what they see. He then demonstrates that it works on chickens. With that they think they can sell it to farmers to make there chicken much bigger.
They try it again, but it does not turn out like the first batch did, it only grew the leg. They give the grandma another batch of the medicine and it makes her shrink to the point that no one can see the mean old grumpy lady.
