Objective:

Students will be able to use Bechdel's work as a mentor text to create an artistic story about their own life

Common Core Standards:

Structure:

Ask students to consider the form that Bechdel chose to tell this story. Have they read a memoir like this before? Have they read other memoirs or autobiographies? What do they think the relationship of word and image contributes to Bechdel's story?
