Florida is a contemporary fiction novel written by New York Times bestselling author Lauren Groff. The book was published by William Heinemann on 5 June 2018. The book follows Groff’s books, Fates and Furies, The Monsters of Templeton and Arcadia and Delicate Edible Birds.

The book entails multiple short stories that revolve around major themes including climate change, nature and the choices one makes in determining the outcome of their life. The short stories are: Ghosts and Empties, Dogs Go Wild and Snake Stones.

‘Snake Stones’ is a story about being ungrateful towards the kindness others show you - the snake is metaphor for the sly behavior of people. In ‘Dogs Go Wild’, Groff explores the gender dynamics at play in out world, and highlights the male threat against two young women trapped on an island. ‘Ghosts and Empties’ explores a woman’s contemplation of her life whilst she is on a walk around her neighborhood.
