How are the three Kao brothers similar? How are they different?

Students will likely see idealism and progressive thinking as two of the most important traits shared in common by the brothers. However, there are gradations: Chueh-hui is clearly more passionate about the struggle for change than his brother Chueh-min, and especially his brother Chueh-hsin. Another important difference between the three is the extent to which each is tied to the old order; whereas Chueh-hui and Chueh-min are young and not really tied down, their brother Chueh-hsin has fewer options in comparison.
