    Objective:

    To explain Pam Muñoz Ryan’s choice of writing from Esperanza’s point of view, experiment with other characters’ points of view.

    Common Core Standards:

    CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RL.6.6

    Structure:

    Introduce this activity by asking students how the point of view influences the story’s tone and narrative voice. Explain that they will consider how different the story would have been if written from another character’s point of view.
