Why is it necessary for Aelin to form alliances before she takes the top leadership of her kingdom?
Aelin is a young woman endowed with leadership skills, courage, and the will to serve her people. However, it is not a walk in the park for Aelin to become the new ruler because the current ruler, Valg King Erawan, is not ready to hand over power to a woman. Aelin and her people know that King Erawan is a big threat because he is dangerous and greedy for power. Consequently, there is situational irony in this context because Aelin and her team initially thought making alliances was easy. For instance, the Terrasen Lords initially refuse to accept Aelin's proposal because they argue that she is too young to rule the kingdom.
