Frances Milton Trollope

Frances Milton Trollope is the author of this travel book. She visits the United States in 1827 and writes a diary in which she describes the peculiarities of the new world. The author finds slavery and manners of Americans revolting, though she always gives credit where it is due.

Henry

Henry is Frances’ son who accompanies her in this journey. Frances Milton Trollope also mentions two daughters.

Miss Wright

Miss Wright is one of the first American anti-racism activists, whom Frances Milton Trollope meets on her way to America.
