Code of Honor Irony

Code of Honor Irony

The paradox of the Department of Homeland Security

The Department of Homeland security is expected to have experts who can interrogate suspects and understand the coded language used in the videos. Ironically, the investigators rely on Kamran and his younger brother to decode the messages in the video games posted by Darius. Kamran is determined to clear his brother's name, yet the police expect him to give them the exact meaning of the coded information.

The detention of Kamran’s family

The main suspect who has claimed responsibility for the terrorist attack is Darius. Ironically, the police descend on his family and put them into custody for interrogation. Instead of questioning the family and allowing them to go home, the police put them in detention for several months, which is a paradox because they have no links to the bombing.

The Irony of Darius

Darius does the extraordinary and unexpected when he openly starts sharing the activities of Al-Qaida on his social media accounts. Darius is a US Army Ranger, supposed to be working for the United States. Ironically, he is working with the enemy and allows himself to be radicalized. Consequently, the readers find it ironic that an American soldier supposed to work for the interest of his family is combining forces with the enemy to destroy the United States.
