Edward Snowden
Former contractor for the NSA, Snowden has taken classified documents in order to leak them to the public. The documents reveal the NSA has been spying on private citizens in order to collect profiling information for years. He goes into hiding in Hong Kong and is eventually granted asylum in Russia.
Glenn Greenwald
Greenwald is a reporter for The Guardian in the UK. He interviews Snowden in Hong Kong and breaks the WikiLeaks story of the NSA’s spying on thre American people.
William Binney
Former NSA employee who became a whistleblower after learning the NSA was spying on the private citizens of America. He continues to testify as the the truth of the actions committed by the NSA in order to create checks and balances.
Laura Poitras
Poitras is the director of the film. Contacted by Snowden to do the film as she has been the target of the NSAs spying for years because of her making a film on the Iraq War.
Ewen MacAskill
Ewen MacAskill is a journalist, the defense and intelligence correspondent for The Guardian. He travels with Greenwald to Hong Kong in order to help break the NSA spring story to the world.
